Plutonium check, time circuits on, flux capacitor… erm … fluxing, input destination set to 1985 and finally get enough road to get the DeLorean to exactly 88 miles per hour. Back to the future celebrating it’s 25th anniversary has gone back… back to the cinema, in stunning digitally re-mastered high definition.

When eccentric scientist Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd) builds a time machine that runs purely on petrol and plutonium you feel that he could be in for the tour of a lifetime, that is until a group of angry Libyan nationalists turn up in pursuit of their stolen plutonium. In a bid to escape them typical 80’s teenager Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) takes the DeLorean to 86, 87, 88 miles per hour and arrives in 1955, stranded with no plutonium for the return trip knowing that only one man can help him, Dr. Emmett Brown.

Delorean Back To The Future 1

It’s a true showcase of how good a director Robert Zemeckis is, getting the very best out of Christopher Lloyd who puts in an absolutely legendary performance. The Back to the Future movies are some of my favourites and seeing it on the big screen was fantastic. The special effects look to have had a revamp looking clear and crisp. As for the movie itself it looks like it was released for the first time this year!

Robert Zemeckis’ Back to the Future is a true modern great and certainly one not to miss at the but be quick it's showing until the end of the week. Make sure you don’t miss it! Unless you have Delorean, in which case just go and see last Friday.
