The Amity Affliction - youngbloods

Posted by Nade on Mon, 24 Oct 2011.

"Youngbloods", the newest album from metallers Amity Affection already has a top ten release and handful of award nominations under its belt following a release in the band's native Australia.

After a close listen, it's easy to understand why.

Make no mistake - this album is loud, with a capital 'loud'.

But unlike some, Amity Affection aren't using this as an excuse to be metal just for metal's sake – underneath tongue-in-cheek song titles such as "No sleep 'til Brisbane" and "F*** the Yankees" lies a powerful message; never give up on your dreams, no matter what it takes.

Cranking it all the way up to eleven right from the beginning, and showing no signs of wanting to slow down, each track muscles its way through the speakers, demanding to be heard.

Standout track "Youngbloods" brings with it a vocal play-off similar to early Trivium, while an honourable mention has to go to the fantastic riffage of "Dr Thunder".

"Youngbloods" is available for digital download from today, and if you want to get an up-close and personal look at the band in action, they are supporting Funeral For a Friend at Sub91 on November 14th.
