A Note Of Madness

Flynn is having a good life at University until the pressure of his upcoming Albert Hall Concert gets to him and he begins to break down.

Although this book may seem a little odd, most people don't expect to read a book about an 18 year old on anti-depressants, this book caught my eye with its musical title. Flynn and his friends are musicians but as I started reading I was pleasantly surprised. Suzuma, to me, has a way of luring you into the next page with one thing, then jumping out at you with something completely unexpected in the next. I think this is a good quality of the book as it entices you to read on.

Despite the fact that Flynn is older, from Finland, and prone to depression, I found it easy to relate to him as a musician. Whether others who read the book feel the same I cannot say, but would surely recommend this book to all pianists. That is not to say however, that those without a musical talent would not enjoy it. Tabitha Suzuma's skill of suspense is enough for anybody to be firmly hooked. A great read.
