@ Rawlins Youth Centre
This is a new project giving young people the opportunity to gain Accreditation through the highly regarded Red Cross Baby Sitting Course and also gain the D of E Service sectional award.
The project covers many areas of child care including Accident and Prevention, Fire Safety and First Aid. There is also a residential working with the Simulated Infants.
Other professionals such as the Fire Service and a Qualified Life Saver also contribute to the course.
One of the young people doing the course said:
‘I am doing this course to learn more about looking after small children, so that I can be more confidant when I am baby sitting. I will also be able to charge more’.
The project is aimed at 14-19 year olds, and takes place at Rawlins Youth Centre on Mondays (3.30-5.30). If you'd like to know more, or would like to get involved please contact Colin Laws.
