The Big Wheel

From Monday, December 20, to Wednesday, December 22 Leicester City Centre played host to a special attraction. It was the largest transportable Ferris Wheel in the UK and It was estimated that 15,000 took a ride to view Leicester as they have never seen it before!

Standing more than 150ft high and seats 162 people per ride, (above Humberstone Gate) Engineers had to work flat out to get it ready for it's first turn.

Each pod on the wheel had a central table which you could spin. (a feature I was not brave enough to try out) It was good to see children and adults alike having fun whilst wildly spinning 150ft in the air!!

Queueing for a mere 5 minutes I finally got to go up into the skies and look around. There were amazing panoramic views reaching as far as the eye can see... a fantastic opportunity for budding Photographers!
