30 Days of Night (15)
The inhabitants of a north Alaskan town try to survive an invasion of vampires during one month of total darkness.
Starring Josh Hartnett (The Faculty), Melissa George (The Amityville Horror) and Danny Huston (The Number 23).
Based on the graphic novel by Steve Niles and produced by horror veteran and cult legend Sam Rami, 30 Days of night is a welcome, refreshingly original, revival of the vampire story genre in cinema. Bloodthirsty but brilliantly balanced by the films quieter, emotional moments and enhanced by scenes of suggested violence, it’s pure entertainment from beginning to end.
The human back stories play out perfectly without stifling the main plot and some incredible camera work, stunts and effects leave you wanting more.
Huston is excellent as the leader of the vampire horde and look out for the snow plough/ice cutter.
Exciting and furious. The best vampire film in a long time.
Bloody, Fantastic
